Non-aluminium packaging
[ONE] coffee is produced and packaged with great care. Since external factors such as oxygen, moisture, temperature variations and UV light may adversely affect our products, it is important that the products are packed in a material which protects the contents from possible harm. Traditionally, there was a thin layer of aluminium in the packaging material to serve as a barrier against any external factors which may have affected the product.
However, producing aluminium from bauxite is a radical process. The mining activities necessary to obtain the crude ore cause damage to nature, including to tropical rain forests. The entire process of production, refining and recycling aluminium has an adverse effect on the environment.
Over time, new synthetic materials with excellent barrier qualities to guarantee the freshness and shelf life of products have come onto the market. This aluminium-free material is less harmful to the environment than the packaging material which was used before.
