Global warming and climate change are the result of increased CO2 emissions worldwide. In order to achieve the latest climate objectives, we will have to reduce our energy consumption (and, as a result, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions).
We are happy to play our part. We have calculated that by installing only 5 Maas coffee vending machines (instead of traditional vending machines) an annual reduction in CO2 emission can be achieved which exceeds the consumption of a complete detached house.
In addition to our own energy reduction programme, our coffee and tea also contribute to minimising the risk of further climate change. The exact CO2 emission of every link in the [ONE] coffee chain (coffee and tea gardens – transport – production – delivery) has been calculated. Maas International compensates for the entire amount of these CO2 emissions.
We do this by investing in sustainable energy projects which are supported by the internationally renowned Gold Standard. The Gold Standard is a sustainability mark for CO2 reduction projects. Only projects that achieve CO2 reduction through sustainable energy and energy savings qualify for the Gold Standard. Gold Standard The main claims of the Gold Standard are:
